Infinity Pool
A 4.5 x 9 m infinity pool set on the edge of the slope, its far edge dissolving into the Gulf of Thailand. The terrace turns west, toward the sunset.
Step out and the water meets the sky. The infinity pool, 4.5 by 9 metres and 1.4 to 2 metres deep, runs to the lip of the terrace and lets its surface fall away toward the horizon, so the swim and the sea read as one line above Haad Yao bay.
The terrace opens wide around it. Hanging cocoon chairs are angled west, set for the hour when the light goes gold and the sun drops into the gulf; an outdoor jacuzzi sits close by for the cooler part of the evening. Days here move with the water and the view, not against them.
This is the open-air heart of an infinity pool villa on Koh Phangan, raised on the hillside with nothing built between you and the ocean. Morning laps, an afternoon in the shade of the terrace, a slow sunset from the cocoon chairs — the pool is the space the whole villa leans toward.
